Who do you love enough to put your money behind? A Fan’s Collection page shows music someone has put hard-earned money behind. But now, they are the single most powerful tool in growing a Bandcamp-specific “value” that you can’t get anywhere else. When Bandcamp fan pages were announced, they seemed to grow slowly. Bandcamp won’t build public playlists like everyone hopes for

They include some of the frustrations felt (as a heavy user of the platform) plus some ideas and future thinking that could, in my opinion, make this platform next level, which for many, now (crazily!) rely on for a livelihood. What follows, is a combination of my own personal experiences and some topics I often see coming from many artists, musicians, and labels I know. I also did something similar eight(wow ?!) years ago. I have also spent much of my professional “job” understanding user behavior online and complex digital platforms, so it may not surprise you to find I am putting my obsessive/geeky thoughts into words and outlining what I would like to see from Bandcamp in the future. I am a die-hard Bandcamp user and one of the platform’s biggest advocates, ever since 2011.
